Hello! My name is Darby Hayes and I am from Gadsden, Alabama, which is a small town in the northeastern part of the state.  I am currently attending Auburn University, where I will graduate in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  

 

I have always had a passion for helping others and working with children, and together, these led me to Elementary Education.  Throughout my life, my teachers have made some of the biggest impacts on my life and my academic career and I hope to do the same with my students one day.  I want to inspire students and push them to do their best in anything they do.

 

In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family, read, watch movies, and play board games.  I also love to be outdoors when the weather is nice and do things such as swimming and hiking.  My other huge passion in life is animals, and whenever I'm free, I love to spend the day volunteering at the Humane Society. I also love to travel.  Of course, like any good student, I love all things Auburn.  In the fall, you can catch my cheering on the Tigers in Jordan Hare Stadium and in the spring, you might find me hanging out on Samford Lawn.  

 

Overall, these are the things that I love the most in my life, the things that drive me to be the best person I can be, and the things that bring me the most joy.
